art FAQs

Q. For how long have you been drawing?
A. I'd approximate that around about 11-12 years or so.

Q. What inspired you to draw?
A. The Jazz Jackrabbit games, especially Nick Stadler's and Dean Dodrill's art in the games themselves.

Q. What programs do you use to make your digital art?
A. I use a variety of programs, even if for one piece of art. I use Adobe Photoshop 7.0, openCanvas 1.1, openCanvas 4.05, Microsoft Paint (I ain't kidding with that one). However, most of my digital art is sketched with a 0.5 mechanical pencil and then scanned. That doesn't mean I don't digital art from scratch as well. ;)

Q. What tools do you use to make your traditonal art?
A. Just like the previous question, a variety. I use 0.5 mechanical pencils, ballpoint pens, Prismacolor pencils, Prismacolor markers, Giotto Turbo markers.

Q. How long does it usually take for you to complete a piece?
A. Depends on how big the picture is and the amount of detail in it. A complete full color and insanely detailed picture can take up to a month to finish. :) Otherwise, a simple picture can take up to just 2 days to a week.

Q. What resolution do you scan at?
A. Depends on whether if the picture is a simple one or a big one. For simple pictures, I scan at around 100-200 DPI, while on the other hand, big pictures are usually scanned at 300 DPI... Or if I wanted to go nuts, 600 DPI.

Q. Do you do requests, art trades or commissions?
A. Depends. Currently, I am only taking commissions at the moment. I'll have to hack together a comissions info page on my site here, sometime.
